L.E.A.D. – Leadership Excellence and Development

Did you know one of the goals of the Region B LEAD Committee is to foster at least 15 SWE mentor/mentee relationships?  Are you in a mentor/mentee pair?  If so, please contact Jessica (jessicahunt516@gmail.com) and let us know.  If you are unsure or want to be a mentor or mentee, please contact Jessica for more information.  LEAD will be hosting a telecon in early November 2011 to kick-off our Region B FY12 mentoring initiative, including tips for mentors and mentees. 

LEAD is a newly formed Region B committee to leverage SWE resources in leadership coaching, collegiate leadership coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and the leadership pipeline.  The committee meets during Region B meetings at the annual ABJ Meeting, Society Conference, and Region Conference.  If you’re interested in joining the committee or have an idea to share, please contact Justina Mikals @ justina.mikals@swe.org.

1.  Formalize pipeline process in Region B – in process

  • Leverage Leadership Pipeline and Succession Planning Task Force efforts
  • Host brainstorming telecon in November 2011
  • Define expectations for mentors and mentees
  • Post supporting material on tips for successful mentor/mentee relationships

2.  15 mentor/mentee pairs - in process

  • Solicit at WE11 and via LEAD Website & RG Newsletter

3.  Recruit Leadership Coaches  - applications in process (2 LCC, 2 CLCC)
